Prosociality in Healthcare

I am examining the ways in which medical students or physicians’ appreciation for prosocial interactions or prosocial knowledge contribute to their performance effectiveness in both cross-sectional and longitudinal designs.

Leadership

I am examining whether physicians' leadership behavior determines positive patient-related outcomes (e.g., satisfaction). I aim to investigate whether medical students' leadership behavior determines their performance effectiveness.

I was born and raised in an east Indian city, Kolkata, also known as "The city of joy." Kolkata has a strong cultural heritage of literature (Rabindranath Tagore), art (Jamini Roy), movie (Satyajit Ray) and food (fish, sweets, and more). Kolkata is also the land of St. Mother Teresa's philanthropic endeavors.

In addition to my role as a graduate student and researcher at Rice University, I engage in various leadership and volunteer pursuits. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, experimenting in kitchen, and travelling. Catching up with friends is also a refreshing activity!

The causes I care about include health care and education of underprivileged children and adults, education for girl child, and animal welfare.
